Actually I'm liking the direction that the new Trilogy taking. When the Sartain twist happened I nearly got up and walked out. I was thinking it was going to be another Thorn scenario.

The producers of H18 stated that there would be scenes and/or easter eggs that payed homage to every Halloween sequel , one example being the murders at the gas station being a homage to H4 and the bathroom stall murder being a homage to H20. Perhaps the Sartain twist was a homage to the Wynn twist in H6. I would have preferred a simple head exploding kill instead if they really felt the need to pay homage to that movie.

The next sequel, Halloween Kills is shaping up to be a remixed/re-imaging of both H2 and H4 in one movie with Laurie being drugged up and sidelined in Haddonfield Memorial hospital with only semi retired and hospital security guard Leigh Bracket to protect her while the people in the town that's been previously affected by Myers' previous killings form an armed vigilant lynch mob.
