I like it well enough although it has its shortcomings. The pre-titles sequence, which to date is still the longest, is hands down one of the series' best and the boat chase scene is exhilarating. I definitely like the title song by Garbage. After the action-driven Tomorrow Never Dies, I appreciate the movie for having some psychological nuances, but the silly humor gets in the way.
The first hour was pretty good, but the second half was a let-down. Denise Richards was bad casting as a nuclear scientist who is only named Christmas Jones for a silly joke at the end. Sophie Marceau was delightful as Elektra King. Also, some of the action sequences felt lacking in excitement, although I do like the helicopter saw blade scene. Personally, I give the movie a 6/10.
