Last time I actually ate any McDonald's, I was probably 14. My parents went out many times on Saturday nights and would let my brothers & I chose which fast food(this was in the 70's, early 80's). McDonalds was a staple, along with Arby's, Burger Chef. Zantigos, etc. Don't know what value. But just looking at one of my brothers(there were 6) he always had 2 Big Macs, 2 fries, a shake, & 2 blueberry pies(damn the tall & skinny). Back then it was more about something quick, & easy. Although my best friend had a paper route that went into the local mall(Mayfair Mall) & they had a McDonalds that looked out onto the indoor skating rink in the center. We would sit there, get free meals, & then go skating. My mum did use to get the holiday shakes & bring them to the store for us(loved the mint) when we were older. But then it was just those & coffee. Nowadays I think it is more about time & it's easy. Get a quickie, & on your way. Whichever way you want to take that.... Just curious (since I live in Cudahy)......are you still in the 'Tosa area (as a kid, I too skated on that indoor rink a number of times, during its years in existence (1973-1986) !!) ?? And I also ate at that same McDonald's overlooking the rink......but how, exactly (if you don't mind sharing), did you get "free meals" there ?? onmilwaukee.com/family/articles/icechalet.html SAVE FERRIS
