I used to love Oscar Meyer liver sausage when I was a kid and often took it for my lunch in school. I tried it again a few years ago and I no longer cared for it. I never had fresh liver sausage but remember it being very popular in many of the small delis in the Chicago area.

I still like Oscar Meyer liver sausage (Braunschweiger, I believe it's called) to this day (even though it's more processed and not like "the real thing" you get at an authentic meat market). But, I haven't seen it around for a couple years now. It suddenly vanished off the shelves at all the local stores and markets I go to in my area. Lack of demand, perhaps... So for now and the foreseeable future I'll be buying the fresh liver sausage at a deli near me.
