Funny they say it tastes medicinal, that's not what I would expect people to say when describing root beer. I'm not sure what brand their serving in this video, I assume it's A&W but some varieties of root beer can be bitter then moves into a sweet aftertaste. To some, that might taste medicinal but for the most part, it's a soda pop and tastes very similar to other drinks like Coke and Dr Pepper. The purest form of Root Beer is Virgil's Root Beer which is made with 100% natural ingredients. It's not what you would expect to find in a soft drink, here's the ingredients of Virgil's RB - anise, licorice, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, wintergreen, cassia oil, pimento berry oil, and balsam oil. But surprisingly, it still tastes very much like other brands of root beer.  But my favorite is A&W RB.
