Rambo 2 had practical effects because it wasn't capable of having CGI. It also had weak acting and a weak story but people still went to go see it and enjoyed it which led to a series of movies with no plot but a main character just killing as many bad guys as possible.
These are comic book movies, comic books are colourful. That ain't nothing new. Superman, Batman, Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, Spider-man, Fantastic Four, Aquaman, Wonder Woman etc were colourful, How's this anything new? Since when is colour a bad thing?
It's ruining it because the studio is bullying out smaller movies from screens and monopolizing the industry with the takeover from fox to make more mediocre comic book movies from their list of IP properities - saturating the market. Yes Fox wanted to sell but the deal should never have been approved as Disney owns too much of the landscape now.
People can see whatever they want, yeh. But when its the same comic book movie over and over and over and over and over again this is what brainwashing does and it comes at the expense of people not going to see actual good movies. Lets be honest, there is no real difference from Avengers 1 in 2012 to Endgame in 2019 or Ironman 3 to Ragnaraok. Marvel produces the same generic movie 4 times a year and people eat it up like mindless drones. You want true variety look at movies like Joker and Logan.
The colour is there in excess to appeal to children and sell merchandise from lunch boxes to stuffed toys. Comic books are not the same as movies they are different mediums
This is a sensible transition from comic book to on screen

This isn't

Are you saying that the film that turned Galactus into a fricking space cloud is somehow better than Thor: Ragnarok?!
And I DID enjoy Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, but let's not pretend that it's actually better since it's actually even more childish than the film you're trying to trash.
