Also, dying birds probably go to fresh water sources, like streams, creeks, rivers, so yeah, their journeys probably often end there, or your front doorstep if you have a cat who's a great mouser with no mice to kill (that happened when I was 3). I've never had a cat bring in a dead bird. Several live ones, though.  How?? Why?? Were they bloody? Were they new friends of your cat(s)? So much confuse...
