Not sure what to say. Not only because I promised not to vent negative commentary about the Pats on this board anymore, but also because I saw some typical Boston sports commentary on tv last night that makes me at my worst sound like the ultimate homer. On the one hand, they did agree with me that Brady will be gone after this year, but they also went on and on about the Brady helmet flip on the sidelines. They said he was giving up. He did that last year during a game, and he was the one mocking the media come playoff time.
I don't like what I see, I'll say that. The defense has played two good offenses the entire year and been destroyed by both of them. Meanwhile the offense can't even score against bad teams. I disagree with some of the commentary in this thread that the Patriots quit. They had 9 points going into the 4th quarter and finished with 22, so clearly they didn't give up.
What concerns me is they haven't looked good against good teams at all so far this year. Last year was odd, they lost to 5 non-playoff teams but they still beat some good teams along the way. This year their best win was at Buffalo forever ago, and they've been embarrassed by the Ravens and Texans. It's not the end of the world, but they're running out of time to figure it out.
(I also find it amusing that when Brady has a bad game, people talk about how he looked terrible, but when the defense looks like garbage, NOBODY ever says Belichick looked terrible. A comical highlight for me was the defense giving up the long TD pass which was called back, then immediately giving it up again. Way to prepare. 'The Boogeymen' have played two great QBs this year and they've been lit up by both of them. Maybe they shouldn't get too excited about shutting down Colt McCoy.)
Again, at the end of the day they're 10-2. They just need to close the season out strong and hopefully they'll discover something when the playoffs start.
