WHERE ARE ALL THE DEAD BIRDS?

This is an excellent question. There are plenty of pigeons and sparrows around here yet I almost never see a dead one. In fact I don't think I've ever seen a dead sparrow unless it was in my cat's mouth. I've seen piles of pigeon feathers and its wings, after a hawk devoured the rest. But it's rare to find dead pigeons as well.
