I think there is a Plenty Much less demanding jobs. For example those that don’t include public scrutiny. Or don’t require long hours of often close to unbearable conditions. Too hot too cold too long... all of that. Recreating and often also reliving traumatizing situations in front of other people. Sounds horrific. Brining vulnerability to the set and showing it to other people- that’s hard. Not to mention showing parts of your body to the world. I think it’s a job most see as glamorous without seeing the boring yet exhausting long hours of repetition and searching and beating your soul. And all the rejection oh so much rejection each actor has faced in their lives. And only the top 1% makes it. The rest is working two jobs, gives up or gets paid just ok money maybe for a decade or two before progressing anywhere. And they still do it. Respect. That’s real passion. Imagine being told no or you suck the first 1-2 decades of your professional life and getting paid shit or nothing for it. Would you really still do it? The point is no one has to be an actor. No one is becoming an actor to support themselves or their family. As far as I’m concerned anyone getting paid to do something creative, that they love is in a privileged position. If they didn’t enjoy it, they wouldn’t be doing it. The struggle to get there is another thing, but again, if it’s that difficult and horrible, go and get a “real” job. no one has to be anything. peo chose what they become based on what they would like to and are able to do. its a real job. and a lot of those that want it xant keep it because how hard it is.
