Thanks for the great comments about "Midsummer Night's Dream." I so envy you having seen it! I don't have access to Amazon Prime, but will see if one of my friends does. Really need to see if I can find it. What a cast! And this talk has made me think of two more of Dench's earlier television performances that I very much enjoyed (and saw on DVDs from the library of all places): Chekhov's "The Cherry Orchard," first in 1962, in which she played Anya, the daughter of Mme. Ranevsky (played by Dame Peggy Ashcroft), and again in 1982, in which she played the Mme. Ranevsky role. Both were a real treat, though maybe not up to the level of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," don't know. Oh, I miss the real classics (Chekhov, Shakespeare, et al.) Those were the days!
