If you want a semi logical explanation. Lightning is electricity which is a stream of negatively charged electrons. The repulsive nature of electrons when they get near other electrons is strong. It's so strong that when a star collapses on itself that repulsive nature keeps stars 1.5 massive than our sun from collapsing into an Neutron Star, so it forms a White Dwarf. (Over 1.5x massive the repulsion that neutrons vs neutrons form the pressure to battle gravity creating a Neutron Star. I think it's something like 2.5x massive our sun the neutron repulsion isn't strong enough so it forms into a black hole) Any way the repulsion of electrons causes a strong force. If she were able to manipulate lightning in the first movie then she can obviously electrify things. A decent enough electrified charge through the lasso would create a negatively charged field around the Lasso. She has super speed so she can whip it fast enough to wrap it around the bolt. When she whips the lasso around the lightning bolt you have a opposing electronic fields fighting against each other. Those 2 opposing fields would give something to solidly swing on. The same principle is what makes something solid in the first place. Two opposing Electro-Magnetic fields between atoms pushing against each other.
