I'll tell you one thing: if you, Roger Ebert's ghost, the people you ask in the future, and "most of the critic" like 3 more than 2 - or much at all, I'll be shocked.
Most of his movies since Revenge of the Fallen have been awful, so excuse me if I don't want him directing anything anymore.
It was lazy of me to use general opinion to back up my own opinion. I am well aware of this. It was just me trying to be snarky in the way you are sometimes. I'm just not good at it I guess.
The only thing of his I've seen since the first Transformers is Pain and Gain, which is also the only movie of his I really like (unironically). If it has anything in common with BB2, it's completely unrestrained in his trashy excess. The guy is a lowbrow dudebro meathead, and when you put him on a leash, you get Pearl Harbor.
If nothing else, seeing 3 made me want to rewatch the first two so maybe I'll re-remember 1's qualities and separate 2 from some funny Hot Fuzz references.
And oh. Well, my snark is a fine crafted art and not easily replicable. But, with a little more practice, you should get there.
