This latest offering from the King of the "Flash Bang Wallop" action movies, Michael Bay is well up to his previous offerings. It's highly improbable, glossy, with multiple glamorous locations worldwide. a light-hearted leading man, Ryan Reynolds, who ought to consider remaking some of Cary Grant's old stuff, a good-looking, athletic support cast and Lior Raz, the Israeli actor, who starred in Fauda, as the bad guy. The 6 are on a revenge mission to unseat the despotic leader of as Asian country. "One of those 'stan places", one of the 6 explains. The resulting mayhem is spectacular, lightning-fast and plentiful and includes a fantasy of mine that features one of those amazing rooftop glass-enclosed swimming pools on top of a Hong Kong skyscraper. Lior Raz just about steals the picture, turning in a bravura performance with tongue-in-cheek menace. In my mind's eye, I can visualise him, sometime in the future, introducing himself with "Well then, Mr Bond, I am the man who is going to ensure that your Martini is well shaken". IMDb ranks it as 6.2 from approx 30000 viewers. WTF do they know? I give it an 8. It's great fun.
