Here's how it should have been written:
First Half: Everything basically stays the same as the story structure is still relatively solid. Only replace all of the "You must become King" talk with "You must find the TRIDENT™" talk. Orm, likewise, needs the TRIDENT™ to launch his big attack.
Midpoint: No longer a battle for the throne, but, rather, a public execution of Arthur by Orm. Ariel, or whatever that red haired girl is called, still saves him.
Now, Arthur is on a quest to find the TRIDENT™ with Ariel. Orm personally leaves Atlantis to find the TRIDENT™ as well. Black Mothra approaches him to help. The BLACK MANTA ARMOR™ is given to him by Orm. On the quest, Manta betrays Ormo. He wants the magically magic fish fork himself to kill Aquaboy. Now you have three characters competing for the same macguffin in an Indiana Jones style quest.
Aquadude and Ariel get to the super secret fork location, but Black Mantra is already waiting to ambush them. Manta stabs Aquaman in the butt and yells "KAPOW!"or something. A fight ensues. Arthur wins. But Ormo has already taken the TRIDENT™! End of Act Two.
Act Three is now all about Arthur stopping Orm's attack. He finds the classic GREEN AND ORANGE SUIT™ on the skeleton of King Atlan and puts it on. Orm's attack involves him using the TRIDENT to destroy the surface world. Arthur stops him using only his wits and courage. Day is saved. Arthur picks up the TRIDENT himself and screams "THATS THE ONE!!!!!!&!!"
