It's pretty obvious that graphics improve with time. I don't really think that's debatable as texture quality becomes more lifelike as time passes for actual generated graphics.

FMV is some sort of side thing that's not inline with a typical games graphics.

p.s. but as everyone should know... a games graphics can't make or break a game as it's got to be enjoyable to play.
