2. The Boys Despite the saturation of superheroes both in TV and Cinema, I really liked The Boys. The subversion of making the superheroes the villains, the good characters and Homelander played by Antony Starr is probably the best villain of the year after the reactor nº 4 of the Chernobyl power plant. Every episode had something going on. My only complaint is that it was only eight episodes. There's plenty in the comic series they can still cover for a few more series. I was a massive fan of the comic, and despite taking some liberties with the source, it was still an excellent adaptation. Urban's accent was a bit off though Amazon had the first volume available for free through Prime and I didn’t enjoy the comic nearly as much as the show. I was surprised by the tonal difference since they both are pretty horrible places to live, but compared to the comic the show felt like Disneyland.
