The Ladykillers (1955) dir: Alexander Mackendrick, whose "Sweet Smell of Success" appeared two years later. From this gentle but hilarious comedy to a great, cynical and bitter, Noir. A tragedy he did not produce more masterpieces, but he had his demons.
