Johnson can act, but, like many an actor nowadays, he chooses not to do so because--well, why waste the energy? They'll pay him either way.
My greatest memory about him is going to see (for some inexplicable reason) the remake of Escape to Witch Mountain. We all get into the movie theater and sit down, and the projectionist just doesn't start playing the movie.
We look at our watches, make sure we're there at the right time (Have to be, we reason; they took our tickets!), and eventually I stand up and walk out of the theater and to the popcorn counter. The guy there alerts his manager, so on and so forth, until finally the manager of the theater comes over and opens the door to the projection room. Well, wouldn't ya know it, the projectionist thought the movie was so unpopular that he decided that no one would come to see and didn't put the movie on. I guess he couldn't see us from the booth or something. Anyway, there was no one else in the theater, so he was right to that extent, and we watched the picture in an otherwise empty movie theater. Terrible movie (I would have completely forgotten if it weren't for the experience--even as is, I don't remember one whit of the plot), but the whole experience was kinda neat.
