Thanks for the great post, teleadm. Loved that beautiful woman. And I had no idea she did so much live television! I'm amazed. I wanted to add a couple of things that are interesting: Delbert Mann, who hired her for Bethel Merriday, went on to win an Oscar for directing Marty, among other prominent films like Separate Tables, before returning more or less to directing TV movies. Also, Grace Kelly's uncle was the Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, George Kelly, most famous for Craig's Wife and The Show-off.
Thanks again for the great post. 60 live television productions? That's unbelievable! She left the business when she was only 26! Wow.
EDITED TO ADD: tele, I was looking over some of her live television work and saw that she starred in a 30 minute version of The Swan in 1950, and again starred in the feature length version in 1956. Interesting that she went back and forth between features and live tv for the bulk of her career. She must have liked the live format. Probably reminded her of her early days in the theatre (and btw, debuting in Stringberg's The Father is no small thing -- that's one heck of a difficult role).
