Christine Lindberg's Thriller 1973 with eye-patch, was the first Swedish movie to be banned totally since the days of Victor Sjöström, by the Swedish Censorship board, but OK to export.
I was more curious, in general, to ask if people in Sweden remember these films with any fondness.
For example, I meet plenty of Italians and work with some nice Italian people. Yet, I've not met a single Italian in person who knows any of the Italian horror movies I like. Usually, they've seen a couple of Dario Argento movies and that's it, or they've heard of 'Suspiria'. The films they remember were more aimed at the domestic market.
In our socialist democracy we had to know about those things. And we had to watch extremely boring repulsive persons explain about sex, and we had special medical stores that sold that C-thing balloon very openly, where dirty old men hung around. As a kid it was that shop we shouldn't look at too much, in case some relative were hanging outside.
The reason it was sold openly, was that there was a program created by The Board of Sexual Education, that, because of what had happened, no child
should never be born unwanted.
