For what it's worth, liking those films has little to do with the amount of lens flare but with content and narrative (which is another, more severe Abrams issue).

As far as I remember MoS had shaky (cam) and partially ugly cinematography as if Snider wanted to emulate Bay, Abrams & Co. Still a solid reinterpretation of the myth.

As far as I remember BvS had hauntingly beautiful cinematography rivalling Watchmen. If there is a natural lens flare, so be it. It does not detract from the composition and mise en scenes.
