It is good for a 70's rush, but it is also thematically quite a disturbing film, and it utilizes the bleak look and bland sameness of the urban development environment these kids are living in very well. I think they may have gone a little over the top, rather than over the edge, with the car park explosions at the end; but the point about alienated youth and their misdirection at the time still comes over as strong.
