because as I always say... boring is pretty much the worst crime a movie can commit. trust me, I am not the only person around here who has a similar opinion.
as a general rule for me... I give a movie at least 30min+ (I rarely go below 30min) before writing it off as totally boring but I usually try to aim for around 40 minutes before writing it off. because 30-40min is not a small portion of a movie and if it's like watching paint dry for that length of time, major damage is done to the movie. for the record... only about 7% (roughly 160 movies or so) of ALL movies I have seen managed to fall into boring status.
or look at it this way... even if I forced myself to finish that movie, there is a high probability it would be getting a 2/10 like I just gave it.
p.s. the only time I rate movies I have not finish are ones that are boring which default to my usual 2/10 score as I reserve 1/10's for movies I greatly dislike which are sort of worse than boring. but as a general rule, boring is basically the worst crime a movie can commit.
