JJ Abrams is such a Yes Man. Keeps recycling all the best bits from other movies. The Last Jedi was flawed too, but at least it tried to do something different other than pander to the ( extremely toxic and salty) SW fans. I'm trying to be as nice/respectful as I can in response to you, but, boy, is it going to be difficult after reading that! People who say utter nonsense like this in response to criticism are so melodramatic. Discontent among a fan base for inferior product isn't "toxic". You know what's actually toxic? Poisonous agents/chemicals like uranium, plutonium, mercury, pesticides, etc. These are things that are extremely toxic as they are harmful to the body. They are hazards. They can (and will with some of the above examples) kill people even in small amounts. People disliking movies that you like isn't being "extremely toxic" - not even mildly toxic. Don't be so fragile. I swear...people are so ridiculous. Disgruntled Star Wars 'fans' making actresses quit Twitter because of racial and sexist remarks isn't toxic behaviour? Or what about sending death threats to directors because their vision is different than what these directors did? Ridiculing and threatening writers and columnists because they didn't like it, or stood up against the constant online abuse? Okay, if you say so.
