Read the original articles He responded to Marvel in particular because he was asked about Marvel in particular (read the Empire article, not the reports on it). But his problem seems to be with all super hero franchise cinema - he clarifies that in follow up interviews. His 1000+ favourite films do not list any "blockbuster" or franchise films after 1982, except one...Raimi's Spider-Man. No Marvel, no DC, no Lord Of The Rings, no Dark Knight(in fact no Nolan films), no Star Wars (and before 82 ONLY Star Wars) etc. He never called Marvel films "disgusting". He later clarified his original statement He also said some Hitchcock films can be seen as "theme park rides" ok, looked it up, Francis Ford Coppola (Godfather, Apoc Now) said the MCU films are disgusting, no sorry, "despicable", defending Scorsese. Makes it actually worse does it not? www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/marvel-movies-francis-ford-coppola-disney-martin-scorsese-a9163816.htmlI wouldn't go that far, cinematic junk food will do. But then I find junk food disgusting, thus the circle is complete. When you put words into someone else's mouth just to sell your own argument, you automatically lose all validation as a poster. Try and stay on topic and actually read the article before commenting.
