Yes. Lang Jeffries starred in Rescue 8 during the 1950's, but it only went for two years. Emergency had a longer run in the 1970's, and they were similar in that people were getting themselves stuck in awful situations all the time and had to be rescued by a pair of specially trained heroes. I seem to recall that for a time Emergency was briefly shown in syndication under the title Rescue 51.
