Why do these fcuking ideas keep getting greenlit... only to have everyone cry about cinema dying.
Because the movie business is not run by people who watch or care about film or audiences. They are hedge fund managers etc.
The head office only cares that the socio-political message they want to convey gets out.
It's like people in Russia bitching about how lame Mosfilm was.
Oh yeah, Solaris, what a crowd pleaser...
Diversify the ownership and voila--quality improves.
