Interesting perspective. Do you think Machete order (IV, V, I-III, VI) would mitigate this at all or no? yeah, interesting perspective from your POV, bitter experience from mine. I am not against seeing I to VI orderly at second viewings (knowing what is coming) though. As for the Machete order, that sounds good in theory and it mitigates a lot on the narrative level, but it's still a form of interruptus (very unsatisfying for both trilogies and the viewers): You want one storyline (Luke-Vader-Empire conflict) to be resolved, but not have it interrupted by a extended prequel-flashback (of 3 movies) ushering in another storyline. I just don't swing that way... Yeah, that's fair. I still prefer I-VI but can see why you'd feel that way, for sure. The main thing Machete does is preserve the end of Empire, but like you said it then presents other issues in terms of story flow etc.
