i wonder then if rogue one would help this transition at all? would you mix it in? it would also not have the emperor but at least you would see more of what his empire has become and eventually darth vader acting cool for a few minutes. on a side note: i have made a rogue one/new hope edit and i have to say the transition from huge budget star wars film to the flimsy sets of the tantive iv is a bit disappointing. though i love a new hope so no real fuss. To what extent did you edit it? Just stitch up the end of Rogue One with the beginning of A New Hope? Or did you intersperse them a bit more? starts off with a long time ago... the star wars theme plays as "star wars" pulls back from the camera in very slow motion, no scroll. pans down from space to corascont (a slowed down clip from ep II opening, before padmes ship enters the scene). which continues with an hour and 15 minute edit of mostly the finale of rots, with 4 deleted scenes, 2 featuring mon mothma and jimmy smitts, added back in. ends with beru and owen holding baby luke, fading to black and then we see a title card with 11 years later and rogue one begins. after young jyn goes and hides another title card saying 6 years later shows, the rogue one title is cut out. at the end of rogue one as the tantive iv takes off into hyperspace i used a side scroll that goes into a new hope right after the camera pans down to tattooine and begins the film. i also added a cut clip of vader walking with a general or something talking about the rebels that was used in the holiday special? or just a deleted scene. i cut it before vader speaks because it's some other guy's voice, this was placed right before a new day on tatooine arrives and they show the hole luke and his aunt and uncle live in, luke has already left with c3po to go find r2. |
