I feel like NHL coaches are fired relatively frequently mid season. I don't have stats to back it up but it seems like it happens more often than other sports. Dunno why they felt the need to change, especially when theyre still in that 'gaining a foothold' stage as a franchise and have made the playoffs the past few years. But i haven't followed their organization much outside that first season. No question, hockey is a constant revolving door of coaches. There are times when coaches need to go but NHL teams seem to do it all too often in a purely reactionary manner after a bad run of results. Coaches get the blame, never the players. The longest tenured coach right now is Jon Cooper who's been with the Lightning since 2013. 20 current head coaches have only had their positions since 2018.
