Kelly's Heroes 1970

A fine film - 8/10. Sort of a remake of Gunga Din, and Three Kings is in the same mold. Excellent filming of Shermans and a Tiger, though I think it wasn't really a Tiger. Spielberg paid homage to the final scene with the soldier firing down from the bell tower in Saving Private Ryan.

The version available was heavily cut. Eastwood wanted a longer version but he didn't have clout back then. The footage is lost.



It was a T-34, but made up very well to look like a Tiger.  There's only one Tiger in the world that still runs, and it was seen in "Fury."
