That was the suggestion, but not a criticism. Some people actually prefer college football, which holds little interest to me, but that's their thing. But I think some people like it because it's inferior. In the same way that some people prefer college basketball. You can succeed on effort and willpower at that level when you can't do that at the pro level when everyone has a superior skill set. I enjoyed the gameplay, sometimes and to a degree, of the XFL the first time around. Mostly just because it was football during the off season. Most of those guys were college football players, so I don't think the level of play was drastically different... But the question was just whether or not college football was also not interesting to you since it was at a lower level.. which I would understand. I like college football and basketball, but part of the allure in college sports are the 'super teams.' The big time programs put a quality product on the court/field. They're either clicking on all cylinders chewing up inferior opponents or duking it out with an equally talented team. Plus the crowds are super into it because the entire enterprise is built on tradition. I'll put it this way: I'm not tuning in to watch too many Sun Belt conference games. That's what these upstart football leagues always feel like. B list players for teams nobody cares about playing inferior football in front of a crowd of dozens. It's hard to get excited about it. Yeah I get it, the atmosphere is cool and if you went to a big program school it can be fun, and all that. I just only have a peripheral, and passing interest in college sports. I'll probably have a passing interest in the XFL. Probably the same way that people who are really into baseball might watch or go to the occasional minor league game.
