Well, in his good years Warner had talent around him few other QBs have enjoyed. His stats at his peak may have been better, but his career overall I dare say not. You’re the GM of a team. You have to pick one of these QBs to run your offense - prime Eli or prime Warner. Who do you pick? If your answer is Eli, enjoy your 8-8, 9-7 season. More unexpected career, Warner or Brady? Somehow the NFL totally underestimated their talents, but they found success due to injuries of the guys they were respectively backing up. Brady inexplicably dropped to pick #199, but at least he attended a major program, fought his way to prominence and had big games on big stages before the NFL. Warner went to Northern Iowa and then bounced around the football world for a while before suddenly catching fire. Two of the oddest stories in football and they happened around the same time. To answer your question, I have to go Warner. I hear what hehatesshe is saying regarding Warner having superior talent surrounding him, but just going by the how I remember either of them at their peak, I think Warner was better. Quicker reads and more accurate throws. I do think Eli will make the Hall of Fame based on his longevity, two historic Super Bowl comebacks, and the Manning name.
