I'm sure this is happening to piggy back on the moderate success of Crawl.
True. That sat on the shelf for a couple of years, I believe. Not sure of Crawl had anything to do with the timing of that release, as it was likely scheduled a while ago, but maybe it had something to do with it getting a wide theatrical run instead of just being dumped on VOD or Amazon or something like those movies sometimes do. Either way, it didn't amount to much.
