Here's a fairly common office miracle . You've been working for 5 years in the accounts department ,
and it's generally routine stuff and you're getting a little bored . After work , you start looking
online for something maybe a little bit more exciting or varied , or you've heard from your weekend
friends of some positions coming up (in the old days , it was browsing the newspaper for new jobs).
You're a little anxious about all this , but a possible better position elsewhere is offered , and
you take it a step further , by secretly going for an interview at the new company (a bit of juggling
here with the old company) . And you get the call from UpEmCo that there is a place for you .
It's time to see the Trent the Manager at Goldsboro Inc , that you're handing in your resignation .
As you knock on Trent's door and enter , he looks up and says , 'Ah Bobby , just the person I need
to talk to . The Assistant Manager's position has just become available , and I was just thinking
that you're doing well and with your time and experience here , it's yours if you want it ?'.
While thinking on this and just before writing this , I recalled what happened to my daughter just
last year . She's an accountant , and had got tired of working at the firm and decided to move on .
As she went to hand in resignation , her boss gave her a promotion .
