You’re not suggesting that the reason the Falcons blew it against the Patriots is because of the length of the halftime show, are you? I would think that idiotic coaching on the Falcons side had more to do with it. Not really. Although I'm sure the extended time stoppage helped the Pats more than hurt and vice versa - i.e. hurt the Falcons more than helped. I'm pretty much grasping at straws over my disdain for the halftime show. It's a momentum swing for me the viewer as well - I have no interest of watching some teeny bopper or an aging rock band who look like a shell of their former selfs up there or incredibly bad lip syncing - the show is a trainwreck to me as a viewer - to each their own and I understand the Super Bowl is a party - but I'm shocked at the amount of guys who get geared up for this. Gimme a McGregor fight - or just give me some plain old analysis of the biggest game of the year. Not 90 year old Aerosmith up there or Justin Bieber - if I want to watch this horseshit I'll go to a concert - get me back to game action ASAP I agree with pretty much all of this. Think of an average mid-season game. I’d wager that maybe 5% of those typical football fans likes the kind of music you’d see during the Super Bowl. So why have those acts there then? For the corporate crowd in the stadium and the fans beyond the normal viewing crowd (women, teenagers, old people) that like that shit. To me Prince was must-see viewing and a few others were decent but I’m not into their typical performer choices. They either aren’t good or were good 15 years ago.
