The tradition of giving an apple to a teacher started in the 1700s before governments around the world paid for the education of its people. But still i wonder have you ever given an apple to one or several of your teachers ? Personally i have never done it. Not exactly an apple, but thinking about it, there sure was some kids that did give the teacher some gifts, usually something home-made, maybe a jam or lingonberry in a glass jar. it was long before we knew what chutney was. Thinking about it, I actually did take an apple to my new boss interview (as a joke), I got a healthy raise that time.
