One of my favorite Gable films is the obscure "Strange Cargo"
Love this film, kos. So underrated and too little seen. Great Frank Borzage direction, lyrical as usual, with among the best performances for both Gable and Crawford (sans her heavy make-up), in my opinion anyway. Interesting story, too.
I'll never forget the haunting feeling I had when I saw "The Misfits" for the first time in the early sixties, after Gable and Monroe had both died. It was the final film for each, and the ending of it made me think, "If only they hadn't left us so soon (Gable at 60, Monroe at 36), what might have been?"
