I think he had a problem in that when they did run the ball in the drives in question, they weren't getting any yards so it wasno't as simple as running 2 minutes off the clock, they needed points. I guess what they needed to do was methodically move the ball downfield to either run time off the clock or score.
The last time Shanahan coached in a Superbowl his team had a first and 10 at the 22 with an 8 point lead and only a few minutes left. At worst with sensible clock management, the Falcons should have had a 30-35 yard chipshot to ice the game with, at most, 3:30 left, and only that much if the Pats use all 3 of their time outs, which I doubt they would have. That clock management was shit house
