You are being too literal. Nobody knows exactly what happens after one dies. Religion is faith based. Not fact based. People believe in religion based on faith. Not knowledge or facts. Whatever stories religions tell to teach faith need not be exact. Just conceptual. The Catholic Church is quite explicit about Purgatory and Limbo, Heaven and Hell. The Catholic Church, religion and faith are three different things. I believe in God. I have religion. I don't belong to any church. Religion and faith are personal. The Catholic Church is a religious social group. If there is a God and a Heaven, God's not going to care what church you belong to. He's only going to care about your personal actions, thoughts and beliefs. If there is a God and a Heaven, churches and religions don't go to Heaven. Only individuals do.
