On the contrary, this has put my faith back in the Academy for awarding Parasite with 4 gongs. It may only be the 12th or 13th best South Korean film ever made (in my opinion), but it's a good start after 91 years of failure. It should have been 3. I also haven’t argued against it winning the other 3, only the best picture issue. Had it not been in picture category and still been nominated for director, would Bong still have won director? I don’t recall in my lifetime, seeing a film ever win director, that wasn’t nominated for picture. Have you been this vocal all of the other 11 years that a non English language film has been nominated for best picture? Or is it only now that one has won?
