I have a platform on here, like we all do to be vocal. It has always been something that crosses my mind. This year, I felt there were a lot of deserving English language films that missed out on nominations in various categories.

There were many non English language films that missed out in various categories too. Parasite (as good as it is) was in my opinion about the 4th or 5th best foreign language movie of the year.

Back to the rinse cycle. They threw the bone to Parasite due to hype. They do not, nor do they need nominate foreign language films in any category other than foreign language. They do so because of political agenda grandstanding.

I am interested in knowing who the runner ups are. For picture, if not Parasite, where would picture have gone if Bong still won director? 1917, or what I saw as a dark horse, Ford vs Ferrari, which is in my top 5 of the year. English speaking of course, because I don’t go out of my way for foreign language films. Life is too short.
