Should foreign movies really win Best Pic?

I can see arguing both ways...

For it... in the sense there should be no limit on what can win as if something is truly the best it should not be excluded otherwise one would be lowering the quality standard for Best Picture.

Against it... in the sense they are much less likely to have any staying power with the audiences.


but at the end of the day... I am generally against foreign movies winning Best Picture mostly because very few of those types stand out in general AND, like mentioned above, foreign movies just tend to be largely forgettable. so I figure it's mostly a waste of the 'Best Picture' award for foreign movies.
