Logan was nominated for adapted screenplay. which was a win for all comic movies in 2018. I see Logan as a stepping stone for joker. logan paved the way. So joker can fly higher.
what is important about Logan is that we all know the movie should have gotten more nominations but the oscars gave it a pity nomination in one important category because they hated comic movies very much back then. joker has now made it easier.
You are right Logan is pure art and class. Endgame is a childish video game movie. Endgame is not even as good as X-Men 1, a far more realistic adult movie. Don't insult Logan's genius by putting endgame next to it.
The second comic book movie to be nominated for best adapted screenplay was A History of Violence in 2005.
So Logan was way late in that regard and really accomplished nothing of significance. A small movie, soon forgotten.
The historically significant event for comic book (and superhero) movies was, of course, the Black Panther nomination for best picture. Joker must thank Black Panther for paving the way and making it easier for a comic book movie to receive a best picture nod.
As far as Endgame is concerned, it will just have to settle for being the all time box office champ. It must be a bummer being #1.
