I feel 30min+ as a general minimum is reasonable. but to further add... while I already mentioned the whole 30-40min thing (which I am similar enough to your 30-45min thing), there have been cases I made it over a hour into a movie before turning it off and once in a great while ill dump a movie less than 30 minutes into it but it seems to be rare ill rate a movie with the usual 2/10 without having seen at least 30min+. but those who write off a movie as boring after say 10min or so, I think are pulling the plug a bit too quickly. because while I would generally agree that usually you can tell if a movie is headed toward boring status after about the first 15-20min, I still try to do a minimum of 30min+ before writing a movie off as boring and then giving it my usual 2/10 score. because it takes probably a good 10-15min to start to get a feel of a movie.
