I doubt the people he talked to cared whether it was an act or not. Just a few examples of the Q&A's I remember: Fangirl: "You're always so physical in your roles, and they all look so hard. It's great seeing you in action shots..." BP: "I'm sorry, is there a question here somewhere or do you just want to lick my shoe?" Fanboy: "I met you a few years ago, it was the best day of my life. I hope you remember me, it was this cafe on..." BP: "Are you famous?" Fanboy: "Uhmm... no?" BP: "Then why would you think I'd remember you?" Of course, you could interpret that as his sarcastic humor, some people certainly interpreted it that way. But you should have seen the faces of those people asking the questions. They were crushed. LMAO, I can imagine Ash saying those things, even. Oh yeah. You could tell he was being humorous yet dead serious at the same time. It made me laugh and wince at the same time. It reminded me of someone kicking the seat from under a classmate in highschool. On one hand it was kinda funny, on the other hand it was mean and you just felt really bad for the person who slammed on the floor. And he did this in Canada. Most Canadians aren't used to that kind of mean humor.
