What do you think is the worst offense a film can make?

To feature a very annoying character and then try to convince the audience to feel sorry for them. Keep in mind: I'm only talking about movies where the character is annoying for the majority of the running time and doesn't earn its redemption. A lot of these movies also try to make us feel bad for finding the character annoying in the first place... even though we had every right to do so!
