I can see the logic with Douglas, he disappears throughout points of the movie, plus the story is shown through Fox's perspective, so very interesting. I'd say mine are: 1. Vincent D'Onfrio, Full Metal Jacket 2. R. Lee Ermey, Full Metal Jacket 3. Martin Sheen, Wall Street 4. John Lone, Last Emperor 5. Morgan Freeman, Street Smarts. I am one who thinks Freeman is overrated in Street Smart. I don't fully buy him as the character he is playing. I don't even remember Martin Sheen's performance. I am completely on board with D'Onofrio, Ermey (obviously) and John Lone. 1987 was a very good year for supporting performances. D'onofrio is an interesting case as an actor, has credibility but perhaps a bit difficult at times to work with as well?.
