Great movie. I watch it every so often. I had to cut the scene out where he falls through the ice...can't stand how cold it would've been. Good supporting acting by Brian Dennehy...I always like him in movies. RMS does a great job...not only in this movie but in The Buddy Holly Story, The Triangle and Starman just to name a few. Yes, Dennehy was great in his support role and was just as well cast as CMS. Both these actors are always interesting to watch. Plenty of charisma and intelligence and one doesn't need great looks to make something work on screen. Smith seems very comfortable with who he is and his own body. He took on a challenging and daring role, and came out a winner.
